DMX’s Family Members Battle For Control Of His Estate

Because he died intestate, i.e. without a Last Will, the race is on for administrator appointment of Earl “DMX” Simmon’s NY estate. The race is between his fiancé/mother of his five-year-old son and three of his adult children who are each petitioning the court for administrator appointment.

The Court has already ruled that DMX’s fiancé does not have standing to file nor serve as administrator. For this reason, any one of his adult children are leaders in the clubhouse with statutory preference for administrator appointment working in thier favor.

As DMX left behind 15 children (ages 1 to 28 years old) from 9 different women, the battle over DMX’s posthumous estate will surely be as entertaining as his music. With posthumous royalties expected to be earned from his new album Exodus and old sound recordings, the Estate’s earning potential will be quite substantial and worth far more than the $1 MiL dollar estate DMX left behind at the time of his passing.
